School Council

At Onslow Infant School we value the thoughts, ideas and opinions of all the children.  The School Council is a way of ensuring that the children's voice is heard and that the children have an impact on school issues and development.

The Onslow School Council consists of eight children, two from each class in Key Stage 1.  In the summer term we will ask four children from Early Years to join us.  The children are proud of their position and we ask them to wear a School Council badge so that everyone knows who School Council members are.

We hold meetings once per half term, but are sometimes asked to work on important jobs, so may have an extra meeting.

The school Council find ways to make school an enjoyable place to be.  They listen to the ideas of the children in their class and discuss ideas and issues in the meetings.  They work together to develop the school and aim to have one fundraising activity per year.
