School Meals - we are fortunate enough to have our own kitchen at the school and our Catering Supervisor, Sanela Delic, is always looking at ways to ensure that the children at our school have a nutritious meal that they also enjoy. A copy of the menu for the current week is displayed on a board in the reception area of the school office. Occasionally last minute changes may need to be made to the menus. More information on the service provided by Surrey school meals is provided in the link below.
Currently school meals are provided free of charge for all children in our school as part of the government initiative. If you do not want your child to have a school meal, you must give at least a week's notice to take them out of the system. Packed lunches should be brought in a named lunch box and be taken into the classroom each morning where they will be stored safely until lunchtime.
If your child has any kind of special dietary requirement ie allergies, vegetarian, religious reasons, this can be catered for. You should contact the school office immediately and complete a Special Diet Request Form (link to form below) and hand this into the school office. No alternatives can be offered unless one of these forms are completed. Our Catering Supervisor is very happy to discuss with any parent what alternatives are available should you wish to talk to her.
Morning Snacks and Water - The school also participates in the fruit and vegetable scheme which means every child is offered a healthy snack at morning break time. This is provided free. Children are not allowed to bring any other form of snack. We do encourage every child to bring a bottle of water which they are allowed to drink from during the school day. Each classroom either has its own water fountain in the cloakrooms or has drinking water available from the sinks in the classrooms.
Milk - Many of our children also enjoy milk at morning break. This is provided through a company called Cool Milk (link below). Free milk is provided through this scheme for children under the age of 5 or for those who receive free school meals (certain criteria must be met) if you apply for it.
